The Liberty Christian Patriots stacked a fifth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. They were the clear victor by a 75-54 margin over Southside Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Liberty Christian has posted since November 27, 2023.
Liberty Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ian Sterrett out in front who scored 28 points. Sterrett continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last four games he's played. Jakeem Bradford was another key contributor, scoring 23 points along with two steals.
Southside Christian lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luke Boush, who scored 19 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Boush hasn't dropped below 15points for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Ethan Evans, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
The victory makes it two in a row for Liberty Christian and bumps their season record up to 11-4. As for Southside Christian, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-4.
Liberty Christian will take on Cristo Rey Research Triangle at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Cristo Rey Research Triangle is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Southside Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Living Water Christian on January 19th. Living Water Christian is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 62.9 points per game.
