Volleyball Recap: Lyons Starts Season with Win on the Road

Lyons had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Waterloo Tigers on Wednesday. The Lions haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

The win didn't come easy: Waterloo scored at least 19 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-19, 25-22.

Lyons found their leader in freshman Rylee Richardson, who had 29 digs and three aces.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lyons will host Williamson at 6:15 p.m. on September 4. This will be the Lions' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Waterloo, they will welcome Mynderse Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
