Northern Lakes recap October 29, 2013
Bowling Green scaled the state rankings by moving to 467 from 497 this week, the biggest jump in Northern Lakes. The Bobcats were able to move up by defeating Maumee 31-21.
Perrysburg extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Springfield, 42-19. This was the team's sixth consecutive win.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Jordan Spellis and Zac Mathias proved tough for Bowling Green to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Spellis threw for 127 yards and 2 touchdowns and Mathias had 83 yards receiving. Brian Utter helped Maumee's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 29 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Gus Dimmerling of Perrysburg is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,094. He has also thrown 11 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zach Fielder. The Napoleon star has 25 catches for 407 yards.
The Blue Devils are currently in fifth, while Anthony Wayne is in fourth.
Northview lost to the Generals 52-16 last week, the largest margin of any game.
