It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Milford Tigers ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They walked away with an 85-78 win over Mount Vernon. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Milford to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kielen Tsosie, who scored 28 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Tsosie has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Carson Cheney, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds.
Milford has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for Mount Vernon, their loss dropped their record down to 4-10.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Milford will play host again and welcome Rockwell, where tip off is scheduled for 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. Rockwell will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak. As for Mount Vernon, they will be playing at home against Telos at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
