Rogers is on a ten-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Puyallup is on an 11-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Rams will host the Vikings at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Rogers 2.3, Puyallup 1.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
On Tuesday, Rogers was able to grind out a solid win over Sumner, taking the game 8-4.
Sierra Murray (2028) made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addison Fredericks (2027), who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Emma Mitchell (2028), who went 1-for-4 with three runs and one double.
Rogers kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in five consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Puyallup made easy work of Emerald Ridge on Tuesday and carried off an 11-1 victory. Considering the Vikings have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Jaycee Kemp looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out nine over four innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Jenny Tuivaiave was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double. Sophia Wright was another key player, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs and one triple.
Puyallup's win bumped their record up to 17-2. As for Rogers, their victory bumped their record up to 15-3.
Both the two teams just can't seem to miss. Rogers has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.2 hits per game. However, it's not like Puyallup struggles in that department as they've been averaging only 3 hits. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Rogers was able to grind out a solid win over Puyallup when the teams last played back in March, winning 3-0. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Vikings have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
