Baseball Recap: Oxford Makes It Four in a Row at Home

The matchup between Oxford and Derby on Friday hardly resembled the 3-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Wolverines were the clear victors by a 17-3 margin over the Red Raiders. The result was nothing new for the Wolverines, who have now won three matches by 12 runs or more so far this season.

Oxford pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Derby, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
