It was a good run, but the Northfield Norsemen unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 57-44 to Manchester. Northfield found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Several Norsemen players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Elli Baker, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Eden Hoover, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds.
It was another big night for Brookelynn Buzzard, who scored 19 points for Manchester. Another player making a difference was Gracie Lauer, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Northfield's defeat dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Manchester, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Northfield won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Southwood at 3:00 p.m. on December 30th. Southwood is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses. Manchester won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Wabash at 6:30 p.m. on December 30th. Hopefully Wabash focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Friday.
