The Okeechobee Brahmans are taking a road trip to challenge the Melbourne Central Catholic Hustlers at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
On Thursday, Okeechobee needed a bit of extra time to put away Lake Placid. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Dragons, sneaking past 10-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Brahmans have posted since February 28th.
Lilly Larson spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and four unearned) runs on 11 hits.

On the hitting side, Tehya Nunez was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Hayden Slovenski was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Meanwhile, Melbourne Central Catholic came tearing into Thursday's game with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7.4 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Vipers 12-1. The Hustlers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine contests by six runs or more this season.
Lilly Rollinger was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one double.
Rollinger wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Amanda Carter, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and one double. Madelyn Oesterle also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.
Melbourne Central Catholic always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .618. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Melbourne Central Catholic pushed their record up to 16-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Okeechobee, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-12-1 record this season.
