In what's become a running theme this season, the Neuse Charter Cougars gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. Couldn't have asked for a better start to 2024 than the 58-28 blowout they got at home against Franklin Academy. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Neuse Charter has posted yet this season.
Neuse Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Chloe Kozloff out in front who scored 17 points along with nine steals. Kozloff is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last six games she's played. Another player making a difference was Cayley Cochran, who scored 24 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Neuse Charter has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-7 record this season. As for Franklin Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-6.
Neuse Charter will be playing in front of their home fans against Southside Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Southside Christian comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last eight games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. Franklin Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Wake Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 16th. Hopefully East Wake Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Friday.
