Basketball Recap: Venice Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Marymount came into Tuesday's game looking for another win against Venice, but Amiya Aldridge wouldn't allow it. The Gondoliers took their matchup on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 64-29 victory over the Sailors with plenty of help from Aldridge, who dropped a triple-double with 22 points, 11 rebounds, and 12 steals. Aldridge is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least 11 every time she's taken the court this season.

Despite the defeat, Marymount had strong showings from Reese Jerkens, who posted 12 points, and Alianna Hong, who had 11 points. That was a full 41.4% of the Sailors' points, marking the third time in a row Jerkens has put up more than a third of the team's points.

The win (which was Venice's third in a row) raised their record to 3-0. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 52.3 points this season. As for Marymount, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-2.
