Christian Community fell to South Haven Christian 58-61 the last time the two teams met; this time around, they exacted some revenge. Christian Community took their game against South Haven Christian on Friday by a conclusive 50-24 score. Followers of Christian Community probably expected little less of the squad in a season in which they have collected six blowout victories.
The matchup started off well for Christian Community, whose offense put up 36 first-half points. Meanwhile, South Haven Christian couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 36-0 heading into the break. Christian Community put the match away in the third quarter with 14 points from the offense and eight points allowed from the defense.
Senior Nathanael Rowley, who passed for 188 yards and 4 touchdowns, was a major factor in Christian Community's success. The Christian Community defense stepped up as well to lay out the quarterback six times. The win bumped Christian Community's record up to 7-0. South Haven Christian are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-5.
Next week Christian Community take on Freedom Cowboys at 7:00 PM. South Haven Christian will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against Lighthouse Christian in two weeks at 7:00 PM. Neither of these teams wants a repeat from their last game since each was dealt a considerable defeat.
