The Cocoa Tigers had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.3 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They breezed by Astronaut at home to the tune of 63-0. The result was nothing new for Cocoa, who have now won five matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Cocoa found their leader in underclassman Brady Hart, who threw for 132 yards and five touchdowns while completing 100% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Cj Bragg, who picked up 42 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Cocoa's win was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38 points. As for Astronaut, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
Cocoa will look to defend their home field on Friday against Palm Bay at 7:00 p.m. Palm Bay will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 156th, while Cocoa is ranked fourth). As for Astronaut, they will head out on the road to face off against Titusville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
