The Bisbee Pumas's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They lost to Tombstone on the road by a decisive 59-41 margin. If Bisbee was looking for revenge after losing 63-31 to them when the teams met, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Several Pumas players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Yaslin Hernandez, who scored seven points along with 12 rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Janitzia Avechuco, who scored nine points.
Tombstone got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Emma Rivera out in front who scored 17 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rivera has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Annie Loreto, who scored ten points.
Bisbee dropped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. As for Tombstone, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-10.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bisbee's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Bobcats at 5:30 p.m. on January 19th. As for Tombstone, they will face off against the Roughriders at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Pima is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 56.3 points per game this season.
