The Warren County Screaming Devils were the 55-54 winner over the Lake Oconee Academy Titans when they last played one another on January 5th, but their luck changed this time around. Warren County took a 47-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lake Oconee Academy on Friday.
Despite the loss, Warren County saw an underclassman step up: Jailee Allen scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Allen is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last six games she's played. Courtney Bray was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Warren County's defeat dropped their record down to 12-4. As for Lake Oconee Academy, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Warren County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jasper County at 6:00 p.m. on January 20th. Jasper County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Georgia Rankings (they are ranked 427th, while Warren County is ranked 137th). As for Lake Oconee Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Towns County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
