After flying high against the Lighthouse Christian Academy Lions last Saturday, the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers came back down to earth. Shawe Memorial received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 81-67 to the Eagles. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Shawe Memorial in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.
Jaxson Payne was a one-man wrecking crew for Lanesville as he dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Payne has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolyn Hall, who scored 19 points.
Shawe Memorial now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Lanesville, their win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-14.
Shawe Memorial will take on the Cougars at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Trinity Lutheran is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Lanesville, they will head out on the road to face off against the Braves at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Tecumseh is on a three-game streak of home losses, the Eagles a 16-game streak of away losses (dating back to last season), but someone's luck is about to change.
