Twin Springs hasn't had much luck against Rye Cove recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Titans are taking a road trip to face off against the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. Twin Springs will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
Twin Springs took a 14-run loss the last time they faced off against Eastside, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Titans' pitcher stepped up to hand the Spartans a 1-0 shutout on Tuesday. That's two games straight that the Titans have won by just one run.

The result came thanks to Makenzie Gillenwater's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jayde Tomlinson, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rye Cove, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Thomas Walker on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won ten matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Kenzie Hood made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Sara Byrd was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Rheagan Waldon was another key player, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Twin Springs pushed their record up to 11-2-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Rye Cove, their record now sits at 12-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Twin Springs has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .448. However, it's not like Rye Cove struggles in that department as they've averaged .569. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Twin Springs beat Rye Cove 5-0 in their previous meeting two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
