Brighton is 0-10 against Covington since December of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Brighton Cardinals will head out on the road to square off against the Covington Chargers at 7:30 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses apiece.
Two weeks ago, Brighton was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 53-49 to Craigmont.
Covington suffered their biggest defeat since December 8, 2023 on Tuesday. Their tough 77-51 loss to Millington Central might stick with them for a while. Covington was down 56-32 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.
Brighton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Covington, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 3-14.
Brighton and Covington were neck-and-neck in their previous meeting on January 9th, but Brighton came up empty-handed after a 53-52 defeat. Can Brighton avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
