The Water Valley Blue Devils suffered their biggest defeat since November 14, 2023 on Saturday. They were dealt a 58-25 loss at the hands of West Tallahatchie. Water Valley was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 29-8.
West Tallahatchie can attribute much of their success to Jamarria Bailey, who scored 16 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bailey has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Drexel Miller, who scored ten points.
Water Valley has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for West Tallahatchie, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Water Valley will take on Calhoun City at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Calhoun City presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Water Valley in Mississippi (Calhoun City is ranked 110th, while Water Valley is ranked 277th). As for West Tallahatchie, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Simmons at 7:30 p.m. Simmons is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
