The North Valley Christian Academy Lions came tearing into Saturday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.6 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Anthem Prep 50-36. North Valley Christian Academy pushed the score to 45-23 by the end of the third, a deficit Anthem Prep cut but never quite recovered from.
North Valley Christian Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Rice, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rice has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Bobby Rodriguez, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
North Valley Christian Academy pushed their record up to 19-9 with that win, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.5 points. As for Anthem Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-5.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Valley Christian Academy will stay at home for another game and welcome Salome at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Hopefully North Valley Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Saturday. As for Anthem Prep, they will be playing at home against Mogollon at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Anthem Prep is facing Mogollon at the right time seeing as Mogollon is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
