The York Dukes lost against the Seward Bluejays two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. York received a tough blow as they fell 59-43 to Seward.
Several Dukes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Chloe Koch, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Kiersten Portwine, who scored 12 points.
York has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. As for Seward, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 14-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. York will take on Crete at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully York focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Friday. As for Seward, they will be playing at home against Lexington at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Seward's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Lexington has been banged up by four consecutive losses on the road.
