The Prairie View Academy Spartans will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Porter's Chapel Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Prairie View Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Hillcrest Christian 49-6 at home. With Prairie View Academy ahead 42-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Prairie View Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Murphy, who rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns on only seven carries. Murphy was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Another player making a difference was Hayden Little, who rushed for 69 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Porter's Chapel Academy humbled Wilkinson County Christian Academy with a 58-8 victory. The win was just business as usual for Porter's Chapel Academy, who after ten games remain undefeated this season.
John Wyatt Massey had an outrageously good game as he threw for 207 yards and six touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Thomas Azlin, who picked up 76 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Prairie View Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. As for Porter's Chapel Academy, their win was their sixth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 10-0.
Friday's match might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Prairie View Academy has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 240.6 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Porter's Chapel Academy struggles in that department as they've been even better at 242.2 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
