Emily Wierenga was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. Mirra Fenlon was another key contributor, scoring six points along with four steals.
Zeeland East's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-7. As for Holland, their loss was their tenth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zeeland East will face off against Muskegon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Muskegon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Zeeland East in Michigan (Muskegon is ranked 91st, while Zeeland East is ranked 437th). As for Holland, they will head out on the road to square off against Wyoming at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wyoming is coming into the contest hot, having won their last eight games.
