Baseball Recap: Brimfield Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Brimfield had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Annawan-Wethersfield Titans as they made off with a 12-2 win. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten games by six runs or more this season.

Brimfield got a massive performance out of Kaeden Schatsiek, who went 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave Schatsiek a new career-high. Layne Johnson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Brimfield kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in five consecutive contests.

Brimfield's victory bumped their record up to 15-4-1. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, their loss dropped their record down to 9-7.

Looking ahead, Brimfield will venture away from home to square off against ROWVA/Williamsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Annawan-Wethersfield, they will challenge Biggsville West Central at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Titans are facing the Heat at the right time seeing as the Heat are stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
