The Roosevelt Teddies's game last Monday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They escaped with a win against United Christian Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 62-61. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Roosevelt's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Calvin Peterson, who scored 20 points. Avery Wells was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with ten rebounds and four steals.
Roosevelt now has a winning record of 3-2. As for United Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3.
Roosevelt won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hope Academy at 4:30 p.m. on December 28th. Hope Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for United Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against West Lutheran at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
