The Hominy Bucks are still undefeated this season after their game against the Pawhuska Huskies on Tuesday, but the Pawhuska Huskies came as close as anyone has to beating them. Hominy came out on top in a nail-biter against Pawhuska and snuck past 55-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Hominy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Several Huskies players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Trenton Miles, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Miles scored a full 30.8% of Pawhuska's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Dax Godsey, who scored eight points along with seven assists.
Hominy pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Pawhuska, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hominy will be home for the holidays to greet Yale at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Yale has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. Pawhuska will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Dewey at 7:30 p.m. on January 2, 2024.
