Cohasset is 8-2 against Carver since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Skippers will head out to take on the Crusaders at 4:30 p.m. Carver took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Cohasset, who comes in off a win.
Cohasset will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs on Thursday, then bounced right back against Rockland on Wednesday. The Skippers put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 14-2 victory. That looming 14-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Skippers yet this season.

Tucker Bliss made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.
In other batting news, Cohasset got a massive performance out of Ian Konradt, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two doubles, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave Konradt a new career-high. Austin Soderberg also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Cohasset kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Norwell hit Carver with a four-run seventh inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Crusaders came up short against the Clippers, falling 14-3. The Crusaders have struggled against the Clippers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Carver saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ryder Holmes, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Teagan Zakrzewski was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Cohasset's win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-8. As for Carver, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
Cohasset's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's contest. The Skippers have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Carver, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Cohasset continue to outrun the ball?
Cohasset skirted past Carver 3-2 in their previous meeting back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Skippers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
