The Lake Norman Charter Knights came into Friday's contest having lost four straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat South Rowan 75-48 at home. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 40-14.
Christian Virgilio was nothing short of spectacular: he scored 22 points along with two steals. It was the first time this season that he grabbed two or more steals. Another player making a difference was Braylon Irelan, who scored 16 points along with six assists.
Lake Norman Charter's win ended a seven-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-14. As for South Rowan, their loss was their 22nd straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-21.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lake Norman Charter will challenge Central Cabarrus at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Cabarrus has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,929 points over their last 22 games. As for South Rowan, they will head out on the road to face off against West Rowan at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. West Rowanpresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than South Rowan in North Carolina (West Rowan is ranked 185th, while South Rowan is ranked 571st).
