The Seven Rivers Christian Warriors and the North Tampa Christian Academy Titans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Seven Rivers Christian Warriors had to settle for second. They took a 77-60 bruising from the Titans. While losing is never fun, Seven Rivers Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 220th, while North Tampa Christian Academy is ranked 63rd).
Seven Rivers Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jurisah Bailey, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten rebounds. Bailey is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Annalise De beer was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Arianna Murray was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 30 points and 15 rebounds for North Tampa Christian Academy. That makes it four consecutive games in which Murray has scored at least a third of North Tampa Christian Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aliyah Harris-Green, who scored 21 points along with two steals.
Seven Rivers Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 17-7 record this season. As for North Tampa Christian Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 20-2.
Seven Rivers Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. North Tampa Christian Academy also has no future games currently scheduled.
