The Sublette Larks will head out on the road to square off against the Syracuse Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Sublette has not done well against Wichita County recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. Sublette breezed by Wichita County on the road to the tune of 67-39. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Sublette has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Syracuse waltzed into their contest on Monday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. Everything went their way against Southwestern Heights as Syracuse made off with a 48-23 victory. Given Syracuse's advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Southwestern Heights is ranked 250th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sublette's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Syracuse, their win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
Sublette barely slipped by Syracuse in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 49-48. Does Sublette have another victory up their sleeve, or will Syracuse turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
