Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only the P.K. Yonge Blue Wave walked away with it. They came out on top against the Celtics by a score of 54-45 on Saturday. The win was familiar territory for P.K. Yonge who now have four in a row.
P.K. Yonge was led to victory by Alijah Bertrand and Joel Washington. Bertrand scored 20 points, while Washington scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. It was the first time this season that Bertrand scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jack Muller, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
P.K. Yonge is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-12 record this season. As for Trinity Catholic, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season.
