There's no place like home for the Riverside Christian Wranglers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road on Thursday. They secured a 61-57 W over Meadowbrook Academy on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Leading Riverside Christian to victory were Kyle Spratlin and Willie Clines. Spratlin dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds, while Clines scored 20 points along with seven rebounds. The game was Clines' fifth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jabe Taylor, who scored nine points along with six rebounds.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Gaige Daugherty, who scored 17 points along with five steals. Daugherty is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tico Smith, who scored 23 points along with four steals.
Riverside Christian's victory bumped their record up to 4-6-1. As for Meadowbrook Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-4.
Riverside Christian and Cornerstone Academy will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Cornerstone Academy is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. Meadowbrook Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Ocala Christian at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
