Maya Fimbres made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off four hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned runs any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Micaela Valenzuela was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Allison Mullen, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.
Cienega kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Casa Grande only managed three hits.
Desert Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cienega, their victory bumped their record up to 3-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Thursday. Desert Christian hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Cienega struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
