The Cary Imps were the 57-50 winner over the Green Level Gators when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Cary fell 62-50 to Green Level on Friday. While losing is never fun, Cary can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 382nd, while Green Level is ranked 25th).
Several Imps players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Brandon Nixon, who scored ten points. Chase Cleveland was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Cary struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Green Level pulled down 11 offensive rebounds.
It was another big night for Tye Cain, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and five assists for Green Level. Another player making a difference was Trey Manhertz, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
Cary's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 3-10. As for Green Level, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 12-0.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Holly Springs the next time they take the court. Green Level will head out to face Holly Springs at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Cary will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
