Peyton Long was on fire: he rushed for 151 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Durell Taylor was another major influence, as he rushed for 75 yards and ran in a TD.
Meanwhile, Galena Park's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They were outmatched by Nederland at home and fell 38-7. The last quarter was a mere formality, since the game's final score was reached by the end of the third quarter.
The win makes it two in a row for Fort Bend Marshall and bumps their season record up to 6-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 2-6 Fort Bend Willowridge (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 37.5% over those games). As for Galena Park, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Fort Bend Marshall against Galena Park in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 47-0 win.
