After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sacred Heart-Griffin, the Jacksonville Crimsons were happy to have found some success on Tuesday. They came out on top against Decatur Eisenhower by a score of 50-40. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Jacksonville also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Jacksonville's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zara Harper, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maressa Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 13 rebounds.
Decatur Eisenhower lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Honesti Woodland, who scored eight points along with nine rebounds and four blocks. Kaleeya Hubbert was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Jacksonville's victory ended a 11-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-24. As for Decatur Eisenhower, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-18.
Jacksonville will square off against Quincy Notre Dame at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Jacksonville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 517th, while Quincy Notre Dame is ranked 35th). As for Decatur Eisenhower, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mt. Pulaski at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Mt. Pulaskipresents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Decatur Eisenhower in Illinois (Mt. Pulaski is ranked 250th, while Decatur Eisenhower is ranked 544th).
