The Boerne Greyhounds will be playing at home against the Taylor Ducks at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Boerne's favor is that they have now posted big point totals every time they've taken the field this season.
Boerne stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 47-7 victory over Fredericksburg. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-0.
Boerne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Igbo led the charge by rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Igbo was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 57 yards. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Baize, who threw for 151 yards and two touchdowns on only 14 passes.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 66 points the game before, Taylor were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a 13-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of Burnet.
Boerne's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-1. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's game: Boerne has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 184.8 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Taylor struggles in that department as they've been averaging 161.9 per game. It's looking like Thursday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
