The Albemarle Bulldogs lost against the South Stanly Rowdy Rebel Bulls back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Albemarle fell 53-42 to the Rowdy Rebel Bulls. While losing is never fun, Albemarle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 606th, while the Rowdy Rebel Bulls are ranked 253rd).
Gavyn Miller continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for South Stanly, scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Gaddy, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Albemarle dropped their record down to 2-16 with that loss, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for South Stanly, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Albemarle will take on the Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Union Academy is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for South Stanly, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. Mount Pleasant has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 538 points over their last eight contests.
