The Dayton Dust Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They took a serious blow against Churchill County, falling 52-8. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Dayton has scored all season.
Churchill County found their leader in underclassman Jada Anastasio, who scored 21 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Anastasio has scored at least a third of Churchill County's points. Zoey Jarrett was another key contributor, scoring five points along with seven steals.
Dayton has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season. As for Churchill County, their victory bumped their record up to 15-5.
Dayton the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Fernley at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Fernley's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last six contests. Churchill County on the road again on Friday and play against Elko at 6:00 p.m. on January 26th. Hopefully Elko focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Wednesday.
