McDowell has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Asheville Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McDowell has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 180 points over their last three games.
In what's become a running theme this season, McDowell gave their fans yet another huge victory on Friday. They claimed a resounding 60-25 victory over Enka at home. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win McDowell has posted since December 15, 2023.
Among those leading the charge was Kensly Stewart, who scored 15 points. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Kimora Stewart was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Meanwhile, Asheville strolled past T.C. Roberson with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 49-34. The win was just what Asheville needed coming off of a 73-30 defeat in their prior match.
Asheville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Evie Bick, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Bick has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Jaelyn Jacoby, who scored 12 points along with four steals.
McDowell pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.67 points. As for Asheville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: McDowell hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 60.7 points per game. It's a different story for Asheville, though, as they've been averaging only 45.6 points per game. The only thing between McDowell and another offensive beatdown is Asheville. Will they be able to keep them contained?
McDowell lost to Asheville on the road by a decisive 58-43 margin in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can McDowell avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
