Softball Recap: Justin Garza Wins Going Away Against Sunnyside

Justin Garza never got on the board in their matchup on Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Sunnyside on Friday. They put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 13-0 victory. The Guardians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 contests by six runs or more this season.

The team relied heavily on Aubrey Escobedo, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. Jenny Yanez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.

Justin Garza always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .700. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunnyside only posted an OBP of .176.

Justin Garza has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Sunnyside, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-14.
