If the Hampton County Hurricanes were feeling good off their 80-7 takedown of the Bridges Prep Buccaneers last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Hampton County was the victim of a rough 60-34 loss at the hands of Bluffton on Tuesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hampton County in their matchups with Bluffton: they've now lost six in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bluffton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ja'laina Mosley, who scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds. The game was Mosley's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Tacoya Heyward, who almost dropped a triple-double on 9 points, 9 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Hampton County has fallen quite a ways from their 19-5 record last season and are now at 1-2. As for Bluffton, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 4-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hampton County will take on Allendale-Fairfax at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bluffton will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Military Magnet Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th.
