The Gilbert Christian Knights will head out on the road to challenge the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Blue Ridge took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Gilbert Christian, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Gilbert Christian made easy work of San Tan Foothills and carried off a 69-44 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Gilbert Christian.
Gilbert Christian's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Kaila Aston, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks, and Unesu Machiri, who scored 24 points. Aston is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Cervantez, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Blue Ridge, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 58-44 loss to Snowflake on Friday. Blue Ridge has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Gilbert Christian now has a winning record of 13-12. As for Blue Ridge, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost seven of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season.
