The Lincoln Park Lions are taking a road trip to face off against the Trinity Blazers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Lincoln Park came out on top against Chicago Hope Academy on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run second inning. The Lions were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over Chicago Hope Academy. With that victory, the Lions brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.

Susanna Morris made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out eight batters over 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). Morris was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Eleanor Funke was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Caroline Tomlins also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
Lincoln Park always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .611. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Trinity, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Westmont a 10-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Blazers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
The team relied heavily on Quinley Costello, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aly Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.
Lincoln Park has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-9 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 11.5 runs. As for Trinity, with the win, they broke their six-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-15.
Lincoln Park might still be hurting after the 12-6 loss they got from Trinity in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can the Lions avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
