Social Circle fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back wins it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They skirted past Jasper County 23-21.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Social Circle to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jameccus Hardge, who rushed for 85 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also threw for 37 yards and a touchdown while completing 100% of his passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Kam Durden, who rushed for 126 yards.
Special teams played a big role in the game for Social Circle, adding 11 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Preston Guy: he added nine points with three field goals, and another two kicking extra points.
Meanwhile, Oglethorpe County fell victim to Prince Avenue Christian's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They were outmatched by the Wolverines at home and fell 49-0. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, Oglethorpe County couldn't push the score so high this time.
Social Circle's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Oglethorpe County, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 3-5.
Everything came up roses for Social Circle against Oglethorpe County in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 48-12 win. Does Social Circle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Oglethorpe County turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
