Andrew Dorrier and Ethan Myers made a big impact while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Dorrier pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, Myers pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Dorrier has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Dorrier got on base in four of his five plate appearances with four runs and one RBI, while Myers went 1-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three runs gave Myers a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ethan Walter, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Trey Jones, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Meanwhile, Amelia County lost a heartbreaker to Lunenburg Central when they met back in April of 2024, and they left with a heavy heart again on Tuesday. The Raiders fell 7-4 to the Chargers. The Raiders have struggled against the Chargers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Buckingham's win was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.3 runs over those games. As for Amelia County, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
