After a string of ten wins, the Gilbert Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They fell to Hamilton 51-47. Gilbert has not had much luck with Hamilton recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Gilbert's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Meisha Caserio, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was Caia Campbell, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Gilbert's defeat dropped their record down to 10-1. As for Hamilton, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-1.
Gilbert will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Xavier College Prep at 5:30 p.m. on January 9, 2024. Hamilton won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. One thing working in Pinnacle's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
