The Turner Golden Bears's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They had to suffer through a rough 58-21 loss at the hands of West. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Turner in their matchups with West: they've now lost five in a row.
West's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zoe Clark, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Clark has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last five times she's played. Another player making a difference was Imani McGlory, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
Turner's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9-1. As for West, their win bumped their record up to 6-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Turner will take on Leavenworth at TBD on Monday. Leavenworth is coming into the matchup with five straight defeats on the road, so Turner is out to stop a squad with plenty of momentum. As for West, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Shawnee Heights at 5:45 p.m. West will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Kansas Rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Shawnee Heights is ranked 99th).
