North Point extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 9-9. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 9-8 heartbreaker at the hands of the La Plata Warriors. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 17-1 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Noelle Banks led a balanced group of hitters, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Emily Yanick, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
As for La Plata, their victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 8-10. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games.
On La Plata's side, Leah Buck made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. Buck was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Chloe Sullivan was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Reese Menejia was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
