After flying high against Salem County Vo-Tech on Monday, the Clayton Clippers came back down to earth. Clayton took a serious blow against Woodstown on Wednesday, falling 72-43. Clayton has not had much luck with Woodstown recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Clayton still got an impressive performance from Rainelle Blocker, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 16 rebounds. Blocker is absolutely dominating the rebound category: she's posted at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Jones, who scored ten points.
Clayton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Woodstown, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clayton will take on Buena at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Woodstown, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Eastern at 11:30 a.m. on January 13th.
