The North Tahoe Lakers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by West Wendover at home and fell 67-38. North Tahoe has struggled against West Wendover recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
North Tahoe lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Anders Koijan, who scored nine points along with three steals and two blocks. That's the first time this season that Koijan posted two or more blocks. Cormac Springsteel was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with eight rebounds.
It was another big night for Osvaldo Carrillo, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds for West Wendover. Carrillo hasn't dropped below two steals for ten straight games. Another player making a difference was Estaban Correa, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
North Tahoe's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 5-10. As for West Wendover, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 11-4.
North Tahoe will head out on the road to challenge Silver Stage at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Silver Stage comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last nine games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for West Wendover, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Yerington at 6:30 p.m. Yerington is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 54.9 points per game.
